NKU Women’s Golf Improves Throughout Day One Of Jan Weaver MSU Invite

Day One Results

LEDBETTER, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's golf team, led by Sarah Kellam's showing, shaved 17 strokes from its first round score to move up into 11th position after the first day of golf at the Jan Weaver Murray State Invitational.
 
NKU tallied a 331 total in the first round, but found its stroke and carded a 314 in the afternoon session.
 
Kellam notched a 79 in the opening round, but then dropped an even par 72 in the afternoon session. She sits tied for 12th overall with a 151.
 
Allissa Davis shot rounds of 81 and 82 and is tied for 48th. Kristen Smith carded scores of 83 and 81, placing her in a tie for 50th, while Taylor Wogensthal sits 60th after posting rounds of 88 and 79.
 
Tara Clark (161), Ryleigh Waltz (163), MacKenzie Laumann (170) and Allison Leigeb (174) also competed for the Norse.
 
An 8:30 a.m. shotgun start will kick off the final round on Tuesday morning.
