HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team fell to Detroit Mercy, 1-0, on Saturday at NKU Soccer Stadium as the Titans scored in the 70th minute and snapped NKU's streak of 272-straight minutes without allowing a goal.
"We fought hard but just didn't have a finished product in the end. We did some good things possession wise, and defended pretty well. We just didn't put enough balls in the danger area and unbalance their defense enough, which I think is what it boiled down to," said head coach
John Basalyga.
The match was the final home contest on the 2016 slate for the Norse (1-11-3, 1-5-1 Horizon). With the result, Detroit Mercy improved to 3-8-4 overall and 1-4-2 in the Horizon League.
