LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University softball team dropped a 9-0 decision to a nationally ranked Kentucky squad at Joe Cropp Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The No. 12-ranked Wildcats plated runs in the first, second, third and fifth innings, improving to 26-4 on the season. Meagan Prince improved to 12-0 on the season in the circle, striking out three.
Jordan Harbacek (4-5) took the loss in the circle for NKU as the Norse fall to 7-18 on the season.
NKU returns home to the Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field to open the Horizon League schedule Oakland. The three-game series begins on Friday with a single-game set for 3 p.m., and wraps up on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
