Brinker leads men’s golf on day one of Mizzou’s tourney

VERONA, N.Y. – Jacob Poore carded the low round of the day for the Northern Kentucky men's golf team, but it was Jacob Brinker who put up NKU's low score in the opening day of the Turning Stone-Tiger Intercollegiate.
 
Team Tidbits
  • Northern Kentucky is tied for 10th at 34-over par. It shares the position with Sacred Heart.
  • The Norse carded an even 300 following an opening round 310.
  • As a squad, NKU is third in the tournament through the opening 36 holes with 107 pars.
  • Nationally-ranked Texas A&M leads the pack at 10-under as a squad, while host Missouri is also under par by three strokes.
 
Individual Highlights
  • Brinker was consistent across the first 36 holes. After opening with an even-par 72 he followed with a 3-over 75 and is tied for 16th.
  • Poore is the only Norse to card a number in red on the day. He rebounded from a 79 on the first trip around the course with a 1-under 71. Poore is t-26th at 6-over.
  • Poore (25) and teammate Zach Adams (24) rank second and third, respectively, in pars totaled.
