HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Sophomore
Rachel Conaway scored her first collegiate goal in the 20th minute on Tuesday to hand NKU a 1-0 edge that would stick until Xavier tied it up in the second half and would eventually win on a goal with 11 seconds to play at NKU Soccer Stadium.
With the loss, the Norse dip to 2-4-0 overall. Xavier improves to 4-1-1.
"Our players gave everything they had. We just need to do a better job of finishing teams when we have the chance and making better decisions at the end of the game," said head coach
Bob Sheehan. "I thought we played really well in stretches and had Xavier on their heels. I think the statistics bear that out and we had some tremendous scoring opportunities."
