OXFORD, Ohio - The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Miami (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 10-2. Miami improves to 10-3 on the season, and NKU falls to 3-11.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Miami took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Ross Haffey hit a two-run homer for the RedHawks in the frame.
  • The RedHawks added three more runs in the bottom of the second to extend their lead to 5-0.
  • Miami got another run in the third inning. The RedHawks loaded the bases, and Spencer Dull's single to right field scored Mackay Williams.
  • The RedHawks' Landon Stephens hit a triple in the fourth inning that scored two runs to make the score 8-0.
  • Miami's Parker Massman hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give Miami a 10-0 lead.
  • The Norse got two runs back in the top of the sixth. Cole Heavilin reached first base on an error, and he moved to third base on Hohman's double down the left field line. Heavilin scored in the inning on a RBI groundout by Chad Roberts. Later in the inning, Haueter hit a triple to score Hohman.
 
NORSE NOTES
  • Miami committed two errors in the contest, while NKU had none.
  • The RedHawks had 14 hits, and NKU had five.
  • Miami stranded eight runners on base, and the Norse stranded six runners.
