@NKUNorseBSB falls to Lipscomb in series finale

NASHVILLE - The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Lipscomb in the series finale on Sunday by a score of 12-4. The Bisons move to 6-6, and NKU is 2-9.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Lipscomb took a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second. The Bisons' Maddux Houghton hit a grand slam to left field in the frame.
  • The Norse got a run back in the top of the fourth inning. Richmond walked in the inning, and he advanced to second when Will Haueter reached on an error. Mike Moffatt also reached on an error in the inning, and this allowed Richmond to cross the plate.
  • Lipscomb's Jeffrey Crisan hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, and Zeke Dodson added a single that scored two runs to extend the Bisons' lead to 10-1.
  • Jackson Furstace hit a two-run homer for Lipscomb in the bottom of the eighth to extend the advantage to 12-1.
  • The Norse crossed the plate three times in the ninth inning. Pilat singled, and he advanced to second base when Bacon was hit by a pitch. Paradis singled in the frame to load the bases, and Pilat and Bacon both scored on a Hohman single up the middle to make the score 12-3. Later in the inning, Dominic Mercurio hit a RBI groundout to score Paradis, but Lipscomb went on to win by a final score of 12-4.

  • The Norse didn't commit an error in the contest, and the Bisons had two.
  • NKU left eight runners on base, and Lipscomb stranded five.
