CLEARWATER, Fla. – Northern Kentucky softball dropped the first of its two midweek games, falling 6-4 to Binghamton. With the setback, NKU dips to 6-4 overall, while the Bearcats advance to 3-5.

  • Faith Howard started for the Norse, pitching 3.0 innings with three hits allowed.
  • Taylor Ginther pitched the final 4.0 innings, striking out one batter. She absorbed the loss and moves to 4-1 on the season.

  • NKU was the first to score, with Frazier being driven in off a single from Ferrante.
  • Binghamton answered back with a run in the first as its pinch runner was able to advance on two fly-outs before a single allowed her to knot the contest at 1-1.
  • The Norse answered back with two runs in the bottom of the second, as Zahrya McFarland took advantage of an error by the Binghamton pitcher to score, and Ava Lawson later scored off a Frazier single to right field.
  • Binghamton plated two more runs before the Norse would score again, which featured McFarland scoring off another Bearcat error.
