Miami (Ohio) tops @NKUNorseBSB, 2-0

Oxford, Ohio - The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Miami (Ohio) on Friday afternoon by a final score of 2-0. Miami improves to 9-3 on the year, while NKU falls to 3-10.
 
AT THE PLATE  ON THE MOUND
  • Cameron Ross got the start on the mound for NKU. He went seven innings, allowing just four hits and two runs. He also struck out nine batters in the game.
  • Nick Beard came out of the bullpen in the eighth inning, and he struck out a batter, while not giving up a hit.
 KEY MOMENTS
  • Miami scored a run in the bottom of the third inning to take a 1-0 lead. Will Vogelgesang was hit by a pitch in the frame, stole second, and advanced to third on a throwing error. He crossed the plate later in the inning when Landon Stephens reached on an error.
  • The RedHawks added a run in the seventh inning. Stephens' sacrifice fly brought home Carlos Texidor in the frame to make the score 2-0.
 NORSE NOTES
  • Miami had a 4-2 advantage in hits in the contest.
  • The Norse committed two errors in the field, while the RedHawks had none.
