HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to UIC on Friday afternoon by a final score of 14-5. UIC moves to 18-13 on the year and 6-7 in the Horizon League. NKU falls to 10-25 and 5-11 in league play.
 
 
AT THE PLATE

• Andrew Bacon was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
• Will Haueter went 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.
• Cole Heavilin also had a 2-for-5 showing at the plate, and he scored two runs.
• Chad Roberts was 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
• Shane Paradis went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer.

 
 
ON THE MOUND

• Cameron Ross got the start on the mound.
• Travis Rowland, Kaleb Meeks, and Nick Beard each pitched out of the bullpen. Meeks pitched three scoreless innings in relief.

 
 
KEY MOMENTS

• UIC crossed the plate five times in the top of the first to take a 5-0 lead.
• The Flames added four runs in the second to go ahead 9-0.
• UIC took a 10-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI groundout by Scott Ota.
• Dominic Smith hit a solo home run for UIC in the fourth to extend the lead to 11-0.
• Paradis hit a two-run homer for the Norse in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 11-2.
• The Norse added two runs in the sixth inning. Bacon hit an RBI single, and he scored on an RBI double by Haueter.
• UIC scored three times in the ninth to go ahead 14-4.
• Roberts hit a solo home run over the right field wall in the bottom half of the ninth to make the score 14-5.

 
 
NORSE NOTES

• UIC had a 17-12 advantage in hits.
• The Flames didn't have an error, and the Norse had one.
• NKU stranded 12 runners, and UIC left 11 on base.
