HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's tennis closed out its season against Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The men fell by a 5-2 count, finishing the year at 2-13 overall and 0-7 in Horizon League play.
Match Notables
- Detroit Mercy took the first point by winning in No. 1 and 2 doubles.
- Andrew Niehaus tied the contest up at 1-1 with a straight-set win over Artem Vasheshnikov. He downed his opponent, 6-3, 6-1, to record his first Horizon League win in the top flight.
- Chris Murray secured NKU's second point with a tiebreak victory over Jenya Sirous in No. 4 singles. Murray dropped a tight first set in tiebreak before bouncing back to take the second set, 6-3. He won the pro set, 1-0(5).
- Jorge Rodriguez Agudo and Felipe Hidalgo both went extended sets against their opponents.
