MURRAY, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team fell to Murray State in overtime on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 2-1. The Norse are 1-1 on the year, and the Racers move to 2-0.
"Murray State was a top-25 team last year, and they are going to win a lot of games again this year, as they have an outstanding team," said NKU head coach
Bob Sheehan. "Our team competed at a much higher level and with much more energy after the halftime break. We had some outstanding moments in the match. We showed a lot of resolve and character in coming back to tie the match and take the match to overtime on the road. We have challenged our team with a rigorous nonconference schedule, and we will learn and grow from today's match."
