FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team fell to Purdue Fort Wayne on Monday evening by a final score of 3-0. The Mastodons move to 4-3 overall, while NKU falls to 6-2.
"I think it's only fair to say that the better team won tonight," said NKU head coach
Stu Riddle. "It's been a long and exhausting 60 hours on the road, and we are looking forward to getting back to campus, recovering and preparing for another big league game on Saturday."

- Harvey made a save for the Norse in the 56th minute on a shot by Adam Blake.
- The Mastodons took a 2-0 lead in the 62nd minute. A ball played over the top of the NKU defense by Chris Baranowski found Cearns, and he fired a shot into the back of the net to double the lead.
- Hunt hit a shot on goal for the Norse in the 71st minute, but his attempt was stopped by the Purdue Fort Wayne goalkeeper.
- Harvey recorded another save in the 81st minute on a shot by Alex Joneson.
- Cearns added another goal in the 82nd minute for Purdue Fort Wayne to extend the lead to 3-0. He got past the NKU defense and slipped his shot into the right corner of the net.
- Alex Willis nearly scored in the 84th minute, but his attempt was just left of the frame.
- Willis put a header attempt on goal in the 87th minute, but his shot was saved.
- Sam Slocum recorded a shot on goal for NKU in the 88th minute, but the attempt was stopped by the Purdue Fort Wayne goalkeeper.
MATCH NOTES
