@NKUNorseBSB falls to Alabama on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Alabama on Sunday by a final score of 10-1. The Norse drop to 1-11 on the season, while Alabama moves to 15-2.
 
AT THE PLATE  
ON THE MOUND
  • Kyle Arganbright (L, 0-1) got the start on the mound for the Norse. He allowed four runs on two hits and two walks. He also struck out a batter.
  • Jake Dennis relieved Arganbright. He pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk.
  • Cameron Ross came out to pitch in the fourth inning. He gave up four runs on a hit and three walks. Ross also recorded a strike out.
  • Noah Richardson went on to the mound in the fifth inning. He gave up two runs and allowed three walks.
  • Kaleb Meeks pitched a scoreless sixth inning, striking out two batters, while allowing two walks.
  • Tyler Ollier came out of the bullpen in the seventh inning. He pitched two scoreless innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
 
KEY MOMENTS
  • Alabama went ahead 4-0 in the bottom of the second. T.J. Reeves hit an RBI single to score Tyler Gentry. Later in the inning, the Crimson Tide loaded the bases. Kolby Robinson hit an RBI single to score Reeves. In the next at-bat, a wild pitch brought home John Trousdale. Moments later, Joe Breaux hit a sacrifice fly to score Johnny Hawk.
  • The Norse loaded the bases in the top of the third, but Alabama escaped without allowing a run.
  • Alabama added four runs in the fourth inning to go ahead 8-0. The biggest hit came on a double by Keith Holcomb that scored three runs.
  • NKU got a run back in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 8-1. Alas hit a double to start the inning, and he moved over to third on a double by Paradis. In the next at-bat, Hedges recorded an RBI groundout to score Alas.
  • Alabama added two runs in the bottom half of the fifth. With the bases loaded, Morgan McCullough walked to bring home Hawk, and Kolby Robinson scored on a wild pitch.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Each team had six hits in the contest.
  • Neither team committed an error.
  • Hedges is now on a five-game hitting streak.
  • Alabama walked 12 times in the game, compared to one walk for NKU.
