DAYTON, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer team brought home their first win of Horizon League play, besting Wright State, 2-1, at Alumni Field.
"We've been on the wrong end of some unfortunate results so far this season and this was a very well-deserved win against the reigning regular-season champions," said head coach Stu Riddle. "We know we can compete with anyone in this league and look forward to our next match against UIC."

- The Raiders got off to a quick start when Jackson Dietrich fed a pass to Stefan Rokvic for a goal in the 2nd minute.
- For the next few minutes, Wright State controlled possession well and continued making shots and generating corner attempts.
- The Norse broke through with a pair of shots on goal 10th and 11th minutes from Alex Willis and Connor Probert, respectively.
- Maan made three key saves after the 20-minute mark in the first half to keep the Norse down just one score.
- In the 49th minute, Lindqvist chipped a cross from the bottom-right corner of the penalty area to Jørgensen, who headed the ball into the net, tying the game up at one apiece.
- Probert and Grieve had another pair of solid attempts on goal in the 56th and 57th minutes, respectively.
- Both offenses struggled to find scoring opportunities in the ensuing minutes, with the next shot on goal not coming until the 77th minute.
- Greive gave the Norse the lead in the 79th minute when he slipped an unassisted shot past the keeper into the bottom-left corner of the net.
- NKU's defense held strong from there and didn't yield any shot attempts to Wright State.

- Wright State topped this year's Horizon League preseason poll.
- Jørgensen's goal to open the second half is the first of his career.
- Grieve's goal is his first since a two-goal effort against Detroit Mercy on October 13, 2018.
- This is the first win for the Norse in five matchups against the Raiders. NKU last defeated Wright State on September 22, 2015.
