Natalie Hardig and
Miranda Wucherer helped guide Northern Kentucky to a three-set win (25-14, 25-17, 25-19) over Green Bay on a night in which the trio was honored for their Norse careers. The victory moves NKU's record to 14-7 and 10-2 in Horizon League games. GB dips to 11-14 overall with a 6-7 league mark.
STATS LEADERS
- Brinkmann surpassed the 1,000-kill plateau with a team-high 11 terminations on the evening. She also contributed nine digs and five blocks.
- Hardig led the Norse with nine blocks in the match, two of which were solo stuffs.
- Wucherer had 10 assists and five digs.
- Reilly Briggs and Abby Kanakry chipped in with 10 and eight kills, respectively, while Joy Banks put away six attacks with no errors in a .667 hitting effort.
- Lillian Leiner had a match-high 12 digs.
- Katy Yopko just missed a double-double with 19 assists and eight scoops.
FIRST SET SUMMARY
- Briggs and Hardig powered Northern Kentucky to a 25-14 win with five kills and four blocks, respectively.
- The league's leader in blocks, NKU continued to dominate net play with a 4-2 advantage, which helped limit GB to .000 attacking in the set.
- Briggs fired at an impressive .833 clip, registering her five kills on just six swings.
- Brinkmann added four terminations, while Burke's five digs and Leiner's three scoops guided the back row.
SECOND SET SUMMARY
- The second set featured four kills apiece from Brinkmann and Banks as well as six team blocks, led by four block assists courtesy of Hardig.
- Northern Kentucky jumped ahead 5-2 in the opening points and never looked back in a 25-17 win.
- While the overall kill total slightly favored the Norse, 13-11, NKU was also more efficient with three fewer miscues (4-7).
THIRD SET SUMMARY
- Green Bay raced out to 7-4 advantage, but Northern Kentucky rallied to take a 15-12 lead. From that point forward, the Phoenix were only able to pull within two as the Norse won the frame 25-19.
- Brinkmann notched her 1,000th kill early en route to three terminations in the set
- Kanakry put away six of her seven attempts to lead the Norse offensively.
- The Norse block stayed strong, stuffing four Phoenix attempts. Hunt and Kanakry each notched two block assists.
- Leiner dug six GB attacks in the frame as well.
MATCH NOTES
- With her 11 kills tonight, Brinkmann now has 1,002 for her career and becomes the 20th Norse to reach the milestone.
- Hardig was equally impressive on senior night. Her nine blocks served as a new career high for the middle blocker.
- Northern Kentucky registered 14 blocks on the evening, marking the third time this year it has posted 14 or more blocks in a three-set match. All three times have come in the last five matches and they each rank in the top-28 three-set match totals in the NCAA this year.
- NKU posted a .284 attack percent and held GB to just .083. Tonight's match is the fourth time this season the Norse held an opponent below .100 hitting.

The final home match of the regular-season is in store for the Northern Kentucky Norse when they welcome the UIC Flames to Regents Hall for a Sunday matinee with first serve slated for 2 p.m.
