@NKUNorseWBB opens Horizon League play at Green Bay

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's basketball hits the road for the first time this season, traveling north to face Green Bay in the Horizon League opener. This matchup is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 18 with tip off set for 8 p.m. (ET) / 7 p.m. (CT).

FAST BREAK POINTS
• Northern Kentucky earned its first win of the 2021-22 season Sunday, after handling Eastern Kentucky at home, 76-61. 
Lindsey Duvall scored 20 overall points in the win over EKU. Duvall has now scored in double-digits in every single game she has played for the Norse. 
• Duvall also recorded her first double-double of the year, pulling down 10 rebounds in the winning effort.  
Ivy Turner is currently second in scoring for NKU, averaging 11.0 points per game. Turner also leads the Norse in total assists after dishing out six against EKU. 
• Currently three Norse are tied in rebounds per game at 6.5, Emmy Souder, Grayson Rose and Duvall.
• The Norse continued their dominance of Eastern Kentucky in Highland Heights, improving the all-time record against the Colonels to 6-1. This was also the first win over Eastern Kentucky since the 1981-82 season. 
• Green Bay leads the all-time series between these Horizon League foes, with the Phoenix holding a 13-2 overall record over the Norse.
• The Norse were picked to finish fourth in the Horizon League Preseason Coaches Poll.
• Duvall and Ivy Turner each received conference accolades with Duvall earning Horizon League Preseason All-League First Team and Turner getting an All-League Second Team nod. 
• Rose continues to work her way up the all-time ranks at NKU in total blocks, where she sits at number four. After posting one block against the Eastern Kentucky, she increased her total to 121, just 11 behind Janet Brungs (132) who is in third all-time.
Trinity Thompson scored her first points in a Norse uniform against Eastern Kentucky. Thompson caught fire in this contest, finishing with eight total points, shooting 4-for-5 from the field. She also grabbed four rebounds and totaled one assist.
 
SCOUTING GREEN BAY
Green Bay opened the season 1-1 overall with a loss at South Dakota State, 70-49, and then picking up a win at home against North Dakota State, 71-54. The Phoenix through two games have been led offensively by redshirt senior guard Meghan Pingel, who has totaled 18.0 points per contest. Pingel also leads the Phoenix in total assists with nine and is averaging 5.0 rebounds per game as well. Freshman Jasmine Kondrakiewicz currently leads Green Bay on the glass, pulling down 7.0 rebounds per game. She also has totaled 6.0 points per game as well.

SERIES STUFF
The Phoenix hold the all-time series lead over Northern Kentucky at 13-2. NKU saw its only wins in Highland Heights, as the Norse are currently 0-6 when playing in Green Bay. The last time these programs met was last season in Highland Heights on Feb. 6, where Green Bay downed NKU 62-58.
