Local-foe Cincinnati is next opponent for @NKUNorseVB

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – With a break in Horizon League action following a pause from IUPUI, the Northern Kentucky volleyball team will host Cincinnati in a 6 p.m. match on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Regents Hall.

• NKU split two games at Green Bay last week, winning in four on Monday before losing in five on Tuesday
• Northern Kentucky hosts local-foe Cincinnati on Tuesday night at Regents Hall.
• NKU and UC are all tied up at 7-7 in the series, but the Norse have won 2-of-3 in the DI era, including a five-set thriller in 2019.

• The Norse were picked to finish second in the #HLVB Preseason Poll for the second-straight year, garnering three first-place votes and 111 points, one behind favorite Wright State.
• S/RS Miranda Wucherer has two triple-doubles on the year, which are the second most in the nation. She is also riding a streak of three-straight matches with a double-double.
• Wucherer was named Horizon League Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after averaging 3.00 kps, 5.88 aps, 2.00 dps, 0.88 bps and hitting .300, as well as recording a triple-double against Cleveland State.
• All-Horizon League honoree OH Anna Brinkmann has opened the 2020-21 campaign with four-straight double-doubles. She's averaging 3.06 kps and 2.94 dps.
• Brinkmann was a 2019 AVCA All-North Region honoree, the second Norse to earn the honor.
• L/DS Ashton Terrill is coming off a campaign in which she earned her second-straight postseason accolade. She was named an all-league honorable mention in 2019 after being a first-team performer in 2018.
• Terrill is working her way up the Norse annals, scooping 1,730 digs in her career to rank 2nd all-time at NKU.
• Terrill's 5.13 dps rank 39th in the country.
• MB/OPP Abby Kanakry was both a Horizon League All-Freshman and All-Tournament honoree in 2019 after averaging 2.38 kills per set behind a .274 hitting percentage. She was also stout at the net with 0.69 bps.
• Kanakry has 10 aces on the year so far and is averaging 2.70 kps.
• MB/OPP Kaelin Gentile boasts a .347 attacking percentage, good for 99th-best in the nation.
• OH Reilly Briggs returns for her second season with the Norse. Briggs was a #HLVB All-Freshman Team performer last year and is averaging 2.50 kps.
