HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team (1-1-1, 1-0-1 Horizon) battled for 110 minutes with Oakland (1-2-1), but neither side prevailed in the 1-1 stalemate.
"Oakland has an excellent team," said head coach Bob Sheehan. "They're very good in possession and gave us some problems in the first half. We didn't deal with a corner kick well and spent a lot of time on restarts and obviously that was disappointing to us. We switched up in the second half and our players did a great job making adjustments.
"With that said, we did have a couple of really good chances in the first half and maybe with a little more composure we could've scored a couple early. I thought as the game wore on the competitive spirit continued to rise and we've got to find a way to win these games."
