CINCINNATI – Northern Kentucky women's tennis picked up a 5-2 victory against Oakland in the first of two matchups this weekend. The Norse move to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play, while the Golden Grizzlies fall to 2-13 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
Match Notables
- In doubles play, Laura Grau and Maria Koo (No. 1) dominated their opponents in a shutout win, automatically allowing the Norse to pick up the doubles win overall as NKU took the No. 3 doubles match by default.
- Maria Koo (No. 2) continued to impress by picking up the first singles win against her opponent 6-1, 6-2.
- Following Koo was Laura Grau (No. 4), defeating her opponent 6-2, 7-5. Koo's victory was the final point NKU required as the Norse picked up another win by default at No. 6 singles.
Northern Kentucky hosts Oakland on the backend of the two-match set Sunday at Five Seasons Tennis Club at 8:30 a.m.
