HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – After Eastern Kentucky scored early in the first half, Northern Kentucky scored a second half equalizer and Chloe Mills headed home the match-winner in the first overtime. The Norse claimed the 2-1 win and moved to 1-1 on the season. With the loss, the Colonels fall to 1-1.
Head Coach Bob Sheehan
"Credit to Eastern Kentucky. They came out with a ton of energy and scored an early goal. We had to switch up our shape a little bit. Our team responded fantastically. I thought just the fact that in the second half and overtime we outshot them 11-0, based on the first half trailing 9-2 in shots, was a pretty major swing. I think our mentality changed. Our attention to detail changed and our commitment to the game changed."
