NORSE Breakdown
• The Norse head to Rochester, Michigan next to take on Horizon League opponent Oakland, after picking up their sixth straight win Thursday night against Detroit Mercy (74-54).
• NKU is currently 10-3 overall, which is the best start to a season since 2011-12 when the Norse began 12-3 overall.

Lindsey Duvall was selected as the of the Nike® Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 27-Jan. 2 after the big win over IUPUI. This is Duvall's second conference Player of the Week award this season and the third overall for the Norse.
• This was the first win at IUPUI during Coach Whitaker's time at NKU, and also the first victory for the Norse at IUPUI since the 1995-96 season.

Kailee Davis returned to her hometown of Detroit with a bang, posting 14 total points in the win over UDM, a career-high for the freshman.
• Duvall kept her double-digit scoring streak alive while in a Norse uniform, totaling 19 points against Detroit Mercy. Her streak of scoring in double-figures with Northern Kentucky is now at 32 straight games.

Ivy Turner posted her 11th overall game of scoring in double-digits this season with 12 in the road victory over the Titans.

Grayson Rose currently leads the Horizon League in rebounding with 10.1 boards per game, and leads in the conference in total rebounds with 131. She additionally leads the League in total blocked shots with 37 this season.
• Rose ranks ninth in the nation in total blocks with 37, and also ranks 11th in the country in blocks per game at 2.85. Rose has been a force on the glass this season, ranking 49th in the nation in total rebounds at 131. She ranks 32nd overall in rebounds per game with at 10.1 as well.
• Duvall currently ranks second overall in the Horizon League in scoring average with 19.7 points per game. Duvall is first in the conference in total points with 256, along with being first in field goals made at 88, and first in three-point shots made with 33 total.
• Turner was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week during the week of Nov. 20-28.
• Duvall was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week during the week of Dec. 6-12.
• Duvall and Turner each received conference accolades with Duvall earning Horizon League Preseason All-League First Team and Turner getting an All-League Second Team nod.
• The Norse were picked to finish fourth in the 2021-22 Horizon League Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The Norse finished the 2020-21 season eighth overall in the Horizon League. NKU defeated Robert Morris in the first round of the conference tournament before falling to rival and number one seed Wright State in the quarterfinals.

Northern Kentucky picked up its sixth consecutive win after defeating Detroit Mercy on the road Thursday night, 74-54. Davis posted a career-high 14 total points, shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. Duvall totaled a team-high 19 points, 17 of which would occur in the second half. Duvall also led NKU with three steals. Turner finished with 12 total points, her 11th double-figure scoring game this season. Eight total Norse recorded points in tonight's win, and 12 total players saw action.
Scouting Oakland
The Golden Grizzlies are currently 7-7 overall with a Horizon League record of 5-2. Oakland most recently took down Wright State at home by a final score of 62-51. Leading the Golden Grizzlies this season offensively has been Kahlaijah Dean as she is averaging 18.2 points per game. Dean is second on the Golden Grizzlies in rebounding as well, averaging 4.4 boards per contest. Breanna Perry controls the glass for Oakland, averaging 5.5 rebounds per game, and has totaled eight blocks this season. Kayla Luchenbach ranks second on Oakland in scoring with 8.1 points per game as well.
Series Stuff
This series between these two Horizon League adversaries is currently knotted up at 9-9 overall. Each program has found success over the other when playing at home as the Norse hold a 5-2 record over Oakland in Highland Heights, where as the Golden Grizzlies are 7-4 all-time when playing NKU in Rochester. The last time these two squads met was Feb. 20, 2021 where the Norse downed Oakland in Rochester by a final score of 88-75.
