NORSE Breakdown
• Northern Kentucky looks to keep its eight-game winning streak alive this weekend, as the Norse travel north to face Horizon League rival Wright State on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m.
• NKU defeated the Raiders of WSU at home earlier this week, by a score of 77-59. This was the first win over Wright State for Northern Kentucky since March 10, 1987, snapping a losing streak of 14 games vs. WSU.

Khamari Mitchell-Steen played a huge role in the win over Wright State, posting career-highs in both points (23) and blocks (3). She tied a career-high in steals (4) as well.

Kailee Davis was selected as the of the Nike® Horizon League Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 10 - Jan. 16 after helping the Norse secure back-to-back conference road wins.

Lindsey Duvall continued her streak of scoring in double-digits in a Norse uniform as she finished with 17 points against Wright State. Her streak is now up to 34 straight games.

Grayson Rose currently leads the Horizon League in rebounding with 10.3 boards per game, and leads in the conference in total rebounds with 155. She additionally leads the conference in total blocked shots with 41, and leads in block shots per game at 2.7 this season.
• Rose ranks tied for 11th in the nation in total blocks with 41. She is also tied for 11th in the country in blocks per game at 2.73. She has also been a force on the glass this season, ranking 39th in the nation in total rebounds with 155. She ranks 30th overall in rebounds per game with at 10.3 as well.

Lindsey Duvall continued her streak of scoring in double-digits in a Norse uniform as she finished with 17 points against Wright State. Her streak is now up to 34 consecutive games.
• Duvall currently ranks second overall in the Horizon League in scoring average with 19.3 points per game. Duvall is first in the conference in total points however, with 289. She also leads the league in three-pointers made with 36.
• Turner was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week during the week of Nov. 20-28.
• Duvall was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week during the week of Dec. 6-12 and during the week for Dec. 27-Jan. 2.
• Duvall and Turner each received conference accolades with Duvall earning Horizon League Preseason All-League First Team and Turner getting an All-League Second Team nod.
• The Norse were picked to finish fourth in the 2021-22 Horizon League Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The Norse finished the 2020-21 season eighth overall in the Horizon League. NKU defeated Robert Morris in the first round of the conference tournament before falling to rival and number one seed Wright State in the quarterfinals.

Northern Kentucky women's basketball earned their eighth-straight win by defeating Horizon League rival Wright State at home inside BB&T Arena on Thursday, Jan. 20 by a final score of 77-59. Mitchell-Steen led the Norse in the scoring column with 23 and went 9-of-12 (75 percent) from the field. Mitchell-Steen added seven rebounds and three blocks to her game as well. Duvall clinched a double-double in the contest with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Duvall shot 2-for-5 (40 percent) from behind the arc and dished two assists. Turner also pitched in 17 points for the Norse and went 6-for-8 (75 percent) at the charity stripe.
Scouting the Raiders
Wright State is currently 2-13 this season, with a 1-9 record in conference play. The Raiders were downed by Northern Kentucky in their last matchup, 77-59 while playing in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Leading the Raider offense this season has been Destyne Jackson and Jada Roberson. Jackson leads WSU with 13.6 points per game, and Roberson is the teams only other double-figure scorer at 12.8 ppg. Jada Wright leads the program in rebounds at 7.0 per contest as well. Wright State ranks sixth overall in the Horizon League in total offense, averaging 62.0 points per game. Defensively the Raiders rank last in the conference, allowing 68.5 points per contest.
Series Stuff
NKU picked up its first win over the Raiders of WSU Thursday night, for the first time since March 10, 1987. While playing in Dayton, Ohio, WSU leads the all-time series 6-5 over the Norse. Wright State leads the overall series 15-13, as NKU dominated the series early in this rivalry, going 12-1 against the Raiders for six seasons.
