JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Northern Kentucky men's soccer was taken down on the road Tuesday afternoon in the final nonconference match of the 2022 season for the Norse by East Tennessee State.
Northern Kentucky (4-10-2, 2-5-1 Horizon) got off to a hot start against the Buccaneers of ETSU (8-4-3, 3-0-1 SOCON), with a fantastic goal from senior Sam Robinson in the 9' minute off a great pass from Roberto Burlew. The Bucs quickly evened up the match with a goal in the 10' minute to see the score set at 1-1. ETSU then netted their second goal in the 36' minute to hold down the lead at halftime. East Tennessee State then finished off the contest with a pair of second half goals for the 4-1 victory.

The Norse now look ahead to next week at the regular season finale where NKU will travel to Rochester, Mich. to face the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland. Northern Kentucky and Oakland will meet at Oakland Soccer Field on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 2 PM (ET) in a match that looks to determined the post-season future of both clubs.
