HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Athletics and the Go Norse Fund announced today the roll-out of a new campaign to rally Northern Kentucky and the tri-state area together to support more than 240 student-athletes and increase NKU's competitiveness in the classroom, in the community and on the field of composition. The Next Level Norse Campaign aims to increase Go Norse Fund membership to 1,000 - nearly 250 new members - by the end of the academic year on June 30, 2023. This ambitious goal comes on the heels of a record-setting year of support for NKU Athletics, where new highs were set in total commitments, total giving and membership.

With nearly 80 percent of NKU alumni living within the tri-state area, the Go Norse Fund is challenging Norse Nation to take their participation and philanthropic support to the NEXT LEVEL. Private donor support has been crucial in the elevation of Norse Athletics to the NCAA Division I level - leading to five Horizon League Championships/NCAA postseason berths across multiple sports and 22-straight semesters of student academic achievement with an average GPA above 3.0. To sustain this success, Go Norse Fund membership remains the driving force behind NKU Athletics' ability to provide the resources necessary for our student-athletes to excel in the classroom, in competition and in life beyond graduation. By joining the Go Norse Fund, you are enhancing our student-athletes' experience and helping them earn a life-changing education from Northern Kentucky University.

"Since arriving in Northern Kentucky this past summer, Norse Nation has shared how passionate they are about our student-athletes and athletics programs," shared Vice President and Athletics Director Christina Roybal. "Next Level Norse is a great way to rally our community in support of our NKU student-athletes. For us to continue competing near the top of the Horizon League, it's imperative that we grow our membership base and philanthropic support. I am calling all of Norse Nation – former student-athletes, alumni and community members – to join the Go Norse Fund and enhance the academic and athletic experience of our student-athletes and ensure we remain top competitors in the Horizon League."

The launch of this campaign hopes to build upon the momentum of a successful 2021-22 year for NKU Athletics with more than 755 members of the Go Norse Fund, 100% participation in giving by Athletics' full-time staff,  and $4.2M in total commitments to the program including:
  • $3M to the Reynolds Family Tennis Center
  • $500K naming Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium
  • $125K to the NKU Men's Soccer Excellence Fund from a Norse Soccer Athlete-Alumnus
  • Establishment of the Mark Dulaney Memorial Cross Country Scholarship
  • Commitment to the NKU Men's Basketball Excellence Fund from a Norse Basketball Athlete-Alumnus
"We strive to provide our Go Norse Fund membership a first-class experience with NKU Athletics," said Assistant AD for Development Derek Petruskevich. "Next Level Norse also means a next level experience for our generous membership. Norse Nation's support of our student-athletes doesn't go unnoticed and our efforts aim to reflect this notion."
