GREEN BAY, Wis. – Northern Kentucky volleyball finished off the Wisconsin road trip with yet another win, this time taking down Green Bay in four sets. NKU picked up their eighth consecutive victory as well.
The Norse (13-11, 11-2 Horizon) shot out of the gate in set one against the Phoenix of Green Bay (19-9,10-4 Horizon) with an early 7-2 scoring run and went on to claim the opening set at a score of 25-22. NKU found themselves in a battle in set number two but thanks to the strong defensive front of the Norse with blocks from
Sequoia Hunt and
Skyy Smith, Northern Kentucky won this game at 25-22. The offensive firepower of the Norse overwhelmed Green Bay in set three as NKU posted a 9-1 scoring run with multiple kills from both
Joy Banks and Reilly Banks. The Phoenix answered back with a quick run of their own to even up the set at 12-12 and force a Norse timeout. GB ultimately took set three by a score of 25-22 to force a fourth set. Northern Kentucky and Green Bay went down to the wire in set four, until the Norse found success in back-to-back points with the match clinching play of
Abby Kanakry and
Allie Siefke blocking the Phoenix for the 29-27 win.
