DETROIT – Northern Kentucky men's soccer saw their comeback against Detroit Mercy fall just short Saturday evening from Titan Field.
The Norse (3-8-1, 1-3-0 Horizon) found themselves in an uphill struggle against the Titans of Detroit (2-6-4, 1-1-3 Horizon), with UDM leading 2-0 at the half. NKU shot out of the gate in the second half with an early goal in the 49' minute as Deryn Armstrong blasted a shot to the back of the net to cut Detroit's lead in half. Northern Kentucky found their equalizer on a penalty kick taken by Stian Jørgensen. The Titans ultimately surged ahead with a goal in the 79' minute which proved to be the game-winner over the Norse at 3-2.
