INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky men's basketball junior Marques Warrick was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week on Nov. 21, as announced by the league office this afternoon. 

Warrick helped guide Northern Kentucky to a historic night in program history as the Norse took down Cincinnati, 64-51, in a cross-town rivalry clash at Truist Arena last Wednesday night. In front of a record-breaking 8,503 fans in attendance, NKU defeated UC for the first time in school history.

Marques led the Norse attack against the Bearcats as the standout finished with 22 points, two assists and three blocks. It was the second straight contest Warrick has paced NKU in scoring and the three-block performance set a new career high. With his showing, Warrick moved into 33rd all-time in scoring in NKU history.

In the national ranks Warrick enters Monday ranked 100th in the nation with his average of 18.0 points per game. In the Horizon League he ranks fifth overall in points per game, and currently stands at 10th overall in three-pointers made within the conference. 

Next up for the Norse si the Florida Gulf Coast Showcase that runs Monday, Nov. 21 through Wednesday, November 23. The Norse will tip off the holiday tournament against host Florida Gulf Coast on Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 PM ET. The game will be streamed nationally on FloHoops and fans can listen live anywhere in the nation on Fox Sports 1360.
