HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky volleyball got themselves back in the win column Friday evening with a victory over the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne inside Regents Hall.
The Norse (14-12, 12-3 Horizon) looked in control of this match throughout nearly all of its entirety against Purdue Fort Wayne (8-18, 4-11 Horizon), as the home squad came away with the four-set victory this evening. NKU saw a bit of a close battle in the opening set, but an impressive 7-1 scoring run to close out the game at 25-21 was all the Norse needed. The Norse cruised in set two, winning it 25-17 over the Mastodons, but dropped set three to PFW at 30-28. Northern Kentucky refocused and then handled Purdue Fort Wayne with a 8-3 scoring run to cap off the set four victory at 25-19.
