HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Basketball is back for Northern Kentucky Athletics as both the men's and women's programs return to Horizon League play! It is also rivalry week as both squads play host to conference foe Wright State on Wednesday (women's) and Thursday (men's) inside Truist Arena.
The men's program has been on fire at home with a 7-1 record overall while the women enter the week as winners of four straight games.

The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program returns for a big week as the Norse get back into Horizon League play.
NKU gets the slate started on Thursday against rival Wright State at 7 PM ET inside Truist Arena. The game will feature a celebration of 859 Night, sponsored by Mike's Carwash, and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a NKU Court Rally Towel. All fans from the Northern Kentucky area (the 859 area code) will receive a Mike's Carwash Pack and NKU students will also be in the running for a $600 Meijer gift card giveaway taking place during the game. Tickets for the contest are
going fast and can be purchased here. The conference clash will also be
streamed nationwide on ESPN+ and can be
heard across the country on ESPN 1530.
The Norse then take the short trip out to IUPUI for another conference showdown, set for Saturday at 2 PM at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The contest will also be
broadcast nationwide on ESPN+ and can be
heard across the nation on 55KRC.
NKU enters the week 7-6 overall that includes a near-perfect mark of 7-1 in contests played inside Truist Arena. The Norse are also 2-0 in Horizon play, a record that puts them atop the Horizon standings with Milwaukee and Cleveland State.
Overall, Northern Kentucky has won five-of-its-last-seven games. The squad is nationally ranked in steals per game (34th in the nation, 9.2 per contest), turnovers forced per game (35th, 16.85) and turnover margin (40th, 3.5).
Individually,
Marques Warrick is still among the nation's leaders in scoring as the standout guard ranks 17th in the country in points (257), 21st in points per game (19.8) and 27th in made field goals (92). Since returning to the lineup,
Sam Vinson is showing once again why he is one of the best defenders in the Horizon League with 2.9 steals per game, a mark that is 4th in the nation. Forward
Chris Brandon is also ranked 21st in the country in rebounds (121) and 28th in rebounds per game (9.3).

Northern Kentucky enters the final week of 2022 with a pair of Horizon League matchups, that begins with hosting conference rival Wright State. The Norse will welcome the Raiders into Truist Arena, with tip scheduled for 7 PM ET on Wednesday. This contest will also feature Boone County Night sponsored by Mike's Carwash. WSU holds the all-time series lead at 15-14, however NKU swept the series a season ago with victories of 77-59 and 82-79.
The second contest of the week for the Norse will see NKU traveling west to Indianapolis to take on the Jaguars of IUPUI on Friday at 2 PM ET. This conference clash will be set to get underway from "The Jungle" where the Norse have been victorious at 8-5 in Indy. Overall, the Norse have dominated the series against the Jags at 21-7.
NKU is coming off a huge victory over cross-river rival Cincinnati this past week, as the Norse dominated the Bearcats 72-52. Both
Lindsey Duvall and
Ivy Turner each eclipsed the 1,000-career point mark in a Norse uniform against UC, leading Northern Kentucky to their fourth straight victory.
