HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over Western Illinois Tuesday afternoon, thanks in part to
Kendyl McKeough's hot bat. The senior hit two home runs to propel the Norse to a victory at Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field.
McKeough has amassed five home runs in NKU's last three games. She leads the Horizon League with eight home runs and 15 runs scored.

- Madisyn Eads (5-5) had a strong day at the plate, striking out six and allowing five hits and two runs. Lauryn Hicks entered the game in the top of the sixth inning, struck out three and allowed one hit.
At a Glance
- Kendyl McKeough put the Norse in the driver's seat with a home run in the bottom of the first inning, driving the ball down the right field line for the 1-0 lead.
- NKU took advantage of two Western Illinois errors to surge ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the third. Jenna O'Hair walked and advanced to third as Kendyl McKeough reached first and moved to second via a throwing error. Jordan Jenkins hit in O'Hair and McKeough scored during Olivia Pastin's at-bat. Pastin reached first on an error by the pitcher.
- Western Illinois scored two runs in the top of the fifth but MckKeough returned to the plate to lead off the bottom of the inning. She blasted her second home run of the day.
- Pitching and defense, including several catches in left field by Pastin, helped ensure the win.
