GREEN BAY, Wis. – Northern Kentucky split with Green Bay in a Sunday double-header at King Park. NKU, which went 2-1 in the three-game series, defeated the Phoenix 5-2 in Game One and lost 6-2 in Game Two.
The Norse return home with an 11-16 (2-4 Horizon League) record.
GAME ONE: NKU 5, Green Bay 2
At the Plate
- Kendyl McKeough went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. She hit three doubles in the Green Bay series.
- Ella LeMonier went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
- Jenna O'Hair had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Sophie Margelot also contributed a hit and a run scored.
In the Circle
- Madisyn Eads (6-5) entered in the bottom of the fourth after the Phoenix jumped ahead 2-1 and escaped the inning without further damage. She struck out four and allowed no hits or runs in her four innings.
- Lauryn Hicks started the game and in three innings allowed five hits and two runs, both earned. She struck out three and walked one.
At a Glance
- The Phoenix struck first on Isabella Curtin's RBI-triple in the bottom of the second, but NKU knotted the game when Ella LeMonier scored an unearned in the top of the third. LeMonier singled and advanced to second when Jenna O'Hair reached first on an error. She scored after Kendyl McKeough, who'd doubled in the first inning, flied out to center field.
- Green Bay jumped ahead 2-1 with an RBI-double in the bottom of the fourth. After a pitching change, Madisyn Eads helped keep the Phoenix scoreless the rest of the inning.
- The Norse changed the complexion of the game with a three-run, five-hit spurt in the top of the fifth. Jenna O'Hair's single down the right field line scored Sophie Margelot, tying the game at two. Kendyl McKeough's RBI-single through the left side scored Ella LeMonier and vaulted NKU ahead 3-2.
- Jordan Jenkins loaded the bases with a single to second base. Maddie Lacer reached first on an error, which allowed O'Hair to score an unearned run for the 4-2 edge.
- McKeough blasted her second double of the game and came home on Jenkins' RBI-single for the 5-2 lead.

- Madisyn Eads started the game and pitched the first two innings before returning in the bottom of the sixth. She surrendered five hits and three runs.
- Lauryn Hicks (2-5) pitched from the third inning through two batters into the sixth. She struck out five, walked two and gave up two hits and three runs.
At a Glance
- Green Bay assumed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second after Alicia Peters hit a solo home run to left center. The Phoenix tacked on another run in the bottom of the third when Tiffany Giese scored after an error.
- Enter Trinity Robertson. The Norse freshman hit a home run to center field to make it 2-1.
- Three of the first Norse batters in the top of the fifth walked. Jenna O'Hair, Kendyl McKeough and Megan Lenhart loaded the bases, prompting a Phoenix pitching change. Brittany Banek replaced Abby Freismuth, who'd struck out two and walked seven in four-plus innings. Freismuth gave up three hits and one run in 4.1 innings.
- Banek walked the ensuing batter, Trinity Robertson, and also walked in a run. O'Hair tied the game at two when she crossed home plate.
- Green Bay piled on four hits and four runs in the top of the fourth, starting with Jadin Justman's solo home run to center. After a Norse pitching change, Becca Edwards hit a two-run home run and Randi McKay delivered a RBI single for the 6-2 lead.
