@NKUNorseBSB downed twice by Raiders

DAYTON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky Baseball fell twice Saturday afternoon against Horizon League adversary Wright State on the road. The Norse drop to 13-25 overall and 7-11 in conference while the Raiders improve to 17-19 this season and 10-4 in the Horizon League. 
 
GAME ONE: WSU 3 - NKU 0

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
  • Wright State got on the board first in the bottom of the fourth inning with a RBI double to left field.
  • WSU tacked on two additional runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to hold a 3-0 lead and went on to close the game out at that score. 
     
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Griffin Kain and Brandon Tucker each posted multi-hit days for the Norse with Tucker going 2-for-2 with a double.
  • Treyvin Moss chipped in a double during this first matchup, going 1-for-4 overall. 
  • Kaden Echeman (L, 1-7) posted a solid outing, throwing 5.1 innings and totaling five strikeouts on the day. Echeman finished the game only allowing five hits, two walks and three earned runs. 
  • Andrew Mulhern finished the game from the bullpen, tossing 0.2 inning allowing zero runs, one hit and striking out one. 
 
GAME TWO: WSU 8 - NKU 0 

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
  • The Raiders struck first with an RBI ground out in the bottom of the second inning. WSU followed up by scoring on a wild pitch in the fourth for a 2-0 lead. 
  • Wright State extended their lead out to 4-0 in the sixth with another RBI ground out and a NKU balk. 
  • WSU then capped off their scoring in the bottom of the eighth with back-to-back RBI singles to hold an 8-0 advantage.
