HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky Athletics has a jam-packed week on the docket, with six programs in action overall, highlighted by two home soccer matches on Monday and Saturday and nationally-ranked contests against Xavier in men's soccer on Monday and Purdue in volleyball on Thursday. Both cross country teams also return with a trip to Michigan State for the Spartan Invitational.
 
MEN'S SOCCER
Monday vs. No. 25 Xavier (7 PM ET): Watch | Live Stats | Tickets

The Norse prepare for a week-long home stand, beginning with local rival and nationally ranked No. 25 Xavier on Monday, Sept. 12. This match will be held at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium at 7 PM and will be Military & First Responders Night as NKU looks to break the all-time soccer attendance record of 2,523. 
 
Northern Kentucky will then host Horizon League opponent Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 PM. Thursday's match will feature NKU Student Bingo Night as well.
 
Both of these matches will be broadcasted on ESPN+.

NKU volleyball continues road play this week with another tough test ahead of them as they travel to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the State Clark Classic.
 
Match number one will see the Norse face tournament host, No. 13 ranked Purdue on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. inside Holloway Gymnasium. The second contest for NKU will be against Ball State (RV) on Friday, Sept. 16 at 4 PM.


WOMEN'S SOCCER
Thursday at Detroit Mercy (7 PM ET): Watch | Live Stats
 
The Northern Kentucky women's soccer program gets Horizon League play underway with a trip to Detroit Mercy for a showdown on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 PM ET. The game will be played in front of a national audience on ESPN+.
 
The Norse enter the contest looking for their first win of the 2022 campaign.
 

CROSS COUNTRY
Friday at Michigan State's Spartan Invitational (11 AM ET)
 
After a successful opening weekend at the Queen City Invitational, the NKU men's and women's cross country teams return to the course for the running of Michigan State's Spartan Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Forest Akers East Golf Course. The women's 5K will get the day started at 11 AM while the men's 8K will follow at 11:40 AM.

WOMEN'S GOLF

Northern Kentucky women's golf will stay close to home this week as they compete at the Jennifer Duke Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati, beginning Monday, Sept. 12.
 
This two-day tournament will be held just across the river at the Losantiville Country Club and will feature a shotgun start on both days at 8:45 AM.

The Norse men's golf program will be traveling to Huntington, West Virginia this week to play in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational, hosted by Marshall University at the Guyan Country Club. This tournament is set to begin Monday, Sept. 12 and run through Tuesday, Sept. 13.
