HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's soccer were ready for a conference matchup with Horizon League adversary Purdue Fort Wayne Saturday evening.
The Norse (3-4-0, 1-1-0 Horizon) picked up three points in conference play with a 3-0 victory over the Mastodons of PFW (1-4-2, 0-1-1 Horizon). NKU found themselves with a 1-0 lead after Deryn Armstrong netted a goal in the 22' minute with the assist from Ryan Godding.
Northern Kentucky doubled their lead right before the break as Brodie Sallows beat the PFW goalkeeper to find the back of the net for the 2-0 lead at the 44' minute. Sallows' goal was assisted by Christian Sjølander and Craig Wellens as well. NKU capped off the scoring on the night with a beautiful goal from Ben Hegge off of a corner kick in the 76' minute to seal the conference win for the Norse.

- Bermingham finished the evening with his first clean sheet of the season, in just his third match back for the Norse. He earned one save during this contest and improved his season record to 1-1-0 overall.
- Armstrong scored his second goal in three games, both of which were against Horizon League opponents.
- Sallows found the back of the net for the second time this season as well.
- Hegge also notched his second goal of the year, his first since the Norse opened the season at Bradley.
- Sjølander tallied his second assist of the season in this contest. Wellens provided his first assist of the year.

The Norse return to action next on Tuesday, Sept. 20 as NKU travels to Macomb, Ill. to face Western Illinois in a nonconference match. This contest is set for a 5 p.m. (ET) kick-off from John Mackenzie Alumni Field.
