HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky volleyball was tripped up in their 2022 home opener from Regents Hall Friday evening, as the Phoenix of Green Bay defeated the Norse in straight sets, 3-0.
Northern Kentucky (4-10, 2-1 Horizon) knew they had a major test on their hands as league leading Green Bay (14-5, 5-0 Horizon) made the trip south to Highland Heights for a Horizon League showdown. The Phoenix always managed to regain control of each set, despite the Norse making strong offensive pushes at numerous times throughout the contest. The third set feature Northern Kentucky shooting out of the gate with a 7-1 lead, but Green Bay ultimately found a way to get themselves back into the match and complete the sweep over NKU.
