HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's soccer found their offensive groove Tuesday evening against the Keydets of Virginia Military Institute with a dominant 6-0 road victory.
The Norse (2-2, 0-0 Horizon) exploded out of the gate with a 1-0 lead over the Keydets of VMI (0-3-1, 0-0 SOCON) with a Craig Wellens goal in the 9' minute. Northern Kentucky poured on the scoring late in the opening half beginning with a goal from a penalty kick by Sam Robinson (38'), followed with a strike by Brodie Sallows (43') and another goal from Simon Knuewe (45') to hold a 4-0 lead at the half. The Norse kept the offensive pressure on with two additional goals in the second half as Stian Jørgensen (70') and Parker Vasic (77') each netted a goal for the 6-0 overall victory.
