HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer program picked up their second consecutive Horizon League victory after defeating the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne at home Saturday afternoon.

MATCH BREAKDOWN
- NKU jumped on the board first with a fantastic finish from Jason Purks who found the back of the net in the 15' minute. This was Purks second goal of the season and of his young collegiate career. Sam Robinson and Rashad Suhaiba assisted on the goal to see Robinson's season total up to two and career total reach 10. Suhaiba recorded his first collegiate assist on the play as well.
- Simon Knuewe dealt what would be the final blow to the Mastodons in the 59' minute with a goal from just in front of the net on a beautiful pass and set up by Roberto Burlew and Ben Hegge. Knuewe tallied his third goal of the year and fifth overall in a Norse Uniform. Hegge saw his career assist number hit 10 on senior day, and was his fifth on the year while Burlew posted his fourth during the 2023 campaign and his sixth overall in a Norse uniform.
- Hegge now ranks third overall in total assists in the Horizon League with five as well.
NEXT UP
The Northern Kentucky men's soccer program will wrap up the 2023 regular season next week on the road in Dayton, Ohio as the Norse make the trip across the river to Wright State. NKU and WSU will meet at the Alumni Field at Rinzler Student Sports Complex for a 2 p.m. (ET) kick-off on Wednesday, November 1 and this match will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
