HOOVER, Ala. – The Northern Kentucky Baseball program got off a a hot start to open the 2023 season with a dominate showing against MAC opponent Eastern Michigan in a neutral site contest where the Norse beat the Eagles, 9-2.

NORSE NOTES
- Fisher definitely stood out as the offensive player of the game for the Norse with his four hits, 3 runs batted in and one home run. Fisher belted his first homer of the season well beyond the left field wall to fuel the Norse offensive attack.
- The pitching duo of Gerl and Brock shut down the Eagles through nine innings as each posted five strikeouts in the match up. Gerl picked up his first win of the season and Brock secured his first save in a Norse uniform.
- Northern Kentucky's win over Eastern Michigan was the first over the Eagles in program history. Previously EMU held a 4-0 all-time record over the Norse.
- NKU's opening day victory was the first in program history since 2011 when the Norse defeated Montevallo on the road by a score of 15-7.
