HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program started their conference series with a bang as the Norse took down the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland by a final score of 11-5 Friday afternoon from the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.

NORSE NOTES
- This game featured a roller coaster of action throughout, beginning with a pitcher's dual between Brock and Oakland's Pidek.
- The Norse exploded ahead of the Golden Grizzlies in the bottom of the eighth, scoring eight total runs to jump forward with an 11-5 lead. Vorhees led the inning with a solo shot to left field and wrapped up the inning with a game-clenching grand slam.
- Vorhees' monster inning featured a rare feat, something a fellow Norse (McFadden-Ackman) did earlier this season. Manny belted two home runs in the same inning, including a grand slam to push the NKU lead out to 11-5 and complete the comeback victory.
