MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Northern Kentucky softball program ran into a duo of red-hot pitchers as the Norse dropped their doubleheader in a Horizon League battle against Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon.
 

GAME ONE - THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 0, Robert Morris – 5 (7 innings)
LOCATION: North Athletic Complex – Moon Township, Pennsylvania
RECORDS: NKU 9-24 (4-5 HL), RMU 14-15 (4-2 HL)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
- Tatum Biddle (1-for-3), Megan Kincer (1-for-3) and Sydni Barnes (1-for-4) picked up the Norse's hits in the contest.
- Trinity Robertson (two walks), Ella LeMonier (one), Megan Lenhart (one) and Megan Kennedy all drew walks.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
- RMU broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third with a run to make it a 1-0 game.
- The Colonials added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the sixth to give RMU a 5-0 edge.
- RMU held NKU scoreless in the top of the seventh to close out the 5-0 victory.
 
 
GAME TWO - THE BASICS

RECORDS: NKU 9-25 (4-6 HL), RMU 15-15 (5-2 HL)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
- Alicia Flores was near perfect in the circle as she came on in relief for NKU. She went 5.1 scoreless innings and allowed just two hits to go with three strikeouts. She did not allow a hit to the first 17 batters she faced and she kept RMU hitless from the end of the bottom of the first through one out in the bottom of the sixth. In total against RMU, Flores went 11.1 innings with no earned runs allowed along with nine punchouts. She dropped her ERA to 3.95 after the stellar weekend and now sits fifth in the Horizon with 72 strikeouts.
- Ella LeMonier (1-for-3) and Brielle DiMemmo (1-for-2) recorded hits for the Norse in the series finale.
- Megan Lenhart also drew a base on balls.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Robert Morris did all its damage in the bottom of the first as the Colonials pushed five across in the opening inning to take a 5-0 advantage.
- The two sides would remain scoreless over the final six frames of the game as RMU picked up the 5-0 win.
 
 
NEXT UP 
The Norse return home for another Horizon League series, this time against IUPUI, set for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 11 followed by a single game on Wednesday, April 12. Both days will get underway with first pitch at 3 PM ET inside Frank Ignatius Grein Field.
