HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer program began the 2023 season against the Blazers of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Thursday morning from NKU Soccer Stadium.

- Alan Melendez received a red card in the 68' minute and dropped the Blazers down to just 10 players for the remainder of the match.
- The Norse were not going away after being down at the half as
Nico Stoddart snuck a shot past the Blazer goalkeeper in the 71' minute to even up the contest at 1-1 overall.

Northern Kentucky returns to their home pitch next on Sunday, August 27 at Scudamore Field at where they will host Florida Gulf Coast in a non-conference bout. This match is slated for a 1 p.m. kick-off as well inside NKU Soccer Stadium.
