HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's volleyball program fell in the final match of the 2023 Groen Family McDonald's NKU Invitational presented by Comfort Inn & Suites - Wilder against the Falcons of Bowling Green in straight sets Sunday afternoon.

Joy Banks fueled the Norse offensive attack, posting 10 kills with a hitting percentage of .231 overall on 26 attacks. Banks chipped in eight digs and two blocks to see herself named to the NKU Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Skyy Smith provided seven kills in the match, while hitting an impressive .462 overall. Smith finished the day with 13 total attacks with only one error and posted one block as well.

Torie Houston guided NKU with 23 assists in the contest, while totaling four digs and two service aces.

Anna Burke led Northern Kentucky defensively covering the ground with 12 digs and tacked on one service ace to her overall stat line.
NEXT UP
Northern Kentucky will now hit the road as the Norse will travel to Columbia, Missouri to compete in the Mizzou Invitational. NKU will face SEC foe Missouri first in the tournament on Friday, September 1 inside the Hearnes Center and this match will be broadcasted on SEC Network+ at 7 p.m. (ET).
