SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky men's and women's cross country teams continued their strong start to the 2023 campaign as the two squads combined for two top-five finishes at the 2023 Jaguar Invitational, hosted by IUPUI at Blue River Cross Country Course on Friday evening.

Grace Biddle led the way for the Norse on the women's side as she ran to an eighth-place finish with a time of 18:21.9. The performance set a new personal best by nearly 41 seconds over 5,000 meters. It also made it two top-10 finishes over her first two collegiate races as she opened the season at the Queen City Invitational as the individual champion.

Sophia DeLisio was right behind and crossed the line in 14th overall at 18:47.5.
- The rest of NKU's scoring-five finished in a solid grouping and was rounded out by
Layla Henderson (31st, 19:33.1),
Jacquelyn Witt (35th, 19:47.0) and
Paige Decker (36th, 19:51.8). Both Henderson and Decker set a new personal record with the strong showing.
- As a unit, the Northern Kentucky women claimed fourth at the meet with 115 points. The Norse finished ahead of teams from conference rival IUPUI, Indianapolis and local foe Thomas More.

Colton O'Hara paced the men's squad with a new personal best of 25:29.0 to claim 14th overall. The showing beat his old PR by over 46 seconds at 8,000 meters.

Jacob Line was next across the line in 34th with a time of 26:37.3. He just missed out on a new personal best by just .3 seconds.
- The rest of NKU's top-five was made up of
Owen Mathews (43rd, 27:23.5),
Summit Northrup (45th, 27:28.1) and
Noah Pease (51st, 27:55.9).
- As a team, the Northern Kentucky men took fifth with 130 points.

The Norse will take a short break from competition before returning with one of the most prestigious meets in the country, the Live in Lou Classic, set for Saturday, September 30 at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park. The women's race distance is 5,000 meters and the men's race is 8,000 meters. The course was home to the 2012, 2015 and 2017 NCAA Division I National Championships.
