COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky women's volleyball program finished off the 2023 Tiger Invitational on a high-note as the Norse persevered over the Coyotes of South Dakota for a five-set victory from Columbia, Missouri.

Abby Kanakry fueled the Norse on the offensive side of the net with 19 kills on the day. Kanakry finished the victory with 39 swings with only five errors and a hitting percentage of .359 and a kill percentage of .487. She tacked on four total blocks and five digs for 21.0 points to lead NKU to the non-conference win.

Joy Banks chipped in a double-double today, her second of the season. Banks anchored NKU with 10 kills and 15 digs and added one service ace and one block in the triumph.
- The tandem setter squad of
Torie Houston and
Katy Yopko combined for 51 overall assists in the five-set thriller. Houston also provided three service aces and Yopko added eight digs in the win.
NEXT UP
NKU Volleyball is back in action next on Friday, September 8 from the Comfort Inn-Vitational in Morehead, Kentucky hosted by Morehead State University. The Norse will compete in two matches that Friday, first taking on Butler at 1 p.m. (ET) and then meeting MSU from Johnson Arena at 7 p.m. (ET).
