Volleyball sweeps away Golden Grizzlies

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky volleyball program remained on fire as the Norse swept through the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland inside Regents Hall Saturday afternoon.

RECORDS: NKU: 9-7 (4-1 Horizon) --- OAK: 10-8 (4-2 Horizon)
 
MATCH NOTES
- Leading NKU today on the offensive side of the ball was Abby Kanakry with 10 total kills and an attack percentage of .304. Kanakry posted one block and two digs to round out her stat sheet as well.
- Joy Banks recorded an phenomenal all-around game with seven kills, six total blocks and nine digs. Banks' six total blocks tied her career-high which she originally eclipsed during her freshman season against Wright State (9/25/2021).
- Anna Burke continued to anchor the Norse ground defense as she picked up 20 digs on the day. This is Burke's eighth match this season with 20 or more digs, and her fourth consecutive with 20 or more digs as well. 
- Skyy Smith turned in a fantastic day at the service line as well as the senior recorded three aces, the most during her Norse career.

Northern Kentucky volleyball will be back on the road next on Friday, October 6, as the Norse make the trip to Wisconsin to take on Milwaukee in another Horizon League matchup. NKU and the Panthers will meet inside the Klotsche Center at 7 p.m. (ET) and this contest will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
