HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball program celebrated a big conference win as the Norse knocked off Detroit Mercy, 73-54, in a Horizon League clash in front of a crowd of 4,122 inside Truist Arena on Wednesday.
To go with the team win, head coach
Camryn Volz celebrated her 100th career victory in front of one of the largest crowds in program history.

NORSE NOTES
- Mitchell-Steen had a huge game as she set a career-best in points. She also went for a season-high in field goals made (10) and blocks. The Oak Ridge, Tennessee native's 29 points tied for the fourth-most all-time against a NCAA Division I opponent by a student-athlete in NKU's NCAA DI era.
- To go with her point total (17), Blevins tied her season-best with three made three's.
- McCray just missed out on a double-double and is now averaging 13.7 rebounds over her last six games played. She leads the Horizon League with an average of 10.8 boards per contest. The next closest conference student-athlete in a full three rebounds behind the standout freshman.
- Igo,
Kailee Davis (five points, four assists, three boards),
Gabby Razzano (two points, one rebound) and
Paige Hodgson (two points) also scored for NKU.
- Northern Kentucky found itself down 19-12 after the first 10 minutes, but it was all Norse from that point on.
- The Norse won the second quarter by a 19-10 edge to take a 31-29 lead into the half.
- Northern Kentucky turned it on with a 24-9 third frame and a 18-16 advantage in the fourth to close out the 73-54 win.
- The game featured just one lead change and one time the game was tied as the Titans jumped out to a quick lead and the Norse punched right back over the final three quarters.
- NKU posted 32 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, 13 bench points and 10 fast break points.
