HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky volleyball secured a big weekend sweep over Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon, as the Norse won a five-set thriller over the Penguins at Regents Hall.
NKU finished the week 2-1.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Northern Kentucky's Joy Banks posted her 10th double-double of the season, finishing with 11 kills & 14 digs. Banks has posted a double-double in nine of her last 10 matches.
- Lainey Green posted a second straight double-double of her own with 18 assists and 10 digs.
- Ava Hoying led the Norse with 14 kills while hitting .314. Hoying added three digs and 1.5 blocks in the win.
- Lucy Cluxton paced the Norse in digs with another 20+ dig effort, finishing with a season-high 29 digs, adding 10 assists for a double-double.
- Allie Siefke dominated at the net, finishing with 4.5 total blocks including a block solo. Siefke was highly efficient offensively as well, hitting .538 with eight kills.
- Torie Houston led NKU in assists with 27, adding seven digs.
- Emory Guderian had her finest outing at the collegiate level in the match, finishing second on the team with a career-high 17 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- NKU fell in the first set 25-22.
- The Norse rebounded with a win in set two by a score of 25-7 following a 16-0 run. NKU hit .471 in the set.
- NKU fell in the third set 25-15
- The Norse responded immediately with a 25-17 win in the fourth set, as Ava Hoying provided the winning kill. Hoying came up clutch again in the fifth set with three kills including the winner to down the Penguins 3-2.
