TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Northern Kentucky men's basketball tipped off the 2024-25 season on the road Monday, as the Norse traveled to the Sunshine State for the season opener at Florida State.
Josh Dilling and Randall Pettus II impressed in their season debuts, but the Norse fell to the Seminoles.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Josh Dilling was the leading scorer for NKU, pouring in 18 points for the Norse in 34 minutes in his debut. Dilling hit a pair of threes and went 6-6 from the foul line.
- Returning sophomore Randall Pettus II scored in double figures as well, finishing with 12 points. Pettus grabbed seven rebounds as well.
- Sam Vinson finished with seven points and two rebounds in the loss.
- Trey Robinson (9) and LJ Wells (8) cleaned up on the glass, grabbing a combined 17 rebounds.
- NKU out-rebounded Florida State 35-32.
- The Norse registered 14 assists on 19 made baskets.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- NKU raced out to an early lead with a 10-5 advantage at the first media timeout. The two sides went back and forth throughout the first half, with a late FSU run giving the Seminoles the lead at half.
- Northern Kentucky continued to battle in the second half and cut the deficit to 10, but could not get any closer in the loss.
