- NKU jumped out to a 17-8 advantage after the first quarter of play.
- Milwaukee punched back with a 21-15 second to close the Norse lead to 32-29 at the half.
- The Panthers moved ahead by just a single point, 51-50, after 30 minutes of action.
- The game started to look in doubt for NKU as Milwaukee started the final frame on a 13-3 run to take a 64-53 lead with just 3:43 remaining.
- Northern Kentucky ended the game on a 14-2 run of its own, highlighted by a go-ahead Mitchell-Steen three with just 51 seconds left on the clock as the Norse escaped with the 67-66 win.
